Captain’s Log — Entry 006

The day began with high hopes riding on fair winds.
I spent the morning working on projects alongside my family. There is something grounding about building and creating together—small tasks that quietly move the voyage forward. Later in the afternoon, I took a long and much-needed rest, letting the body recover as any captain must when the seas have been rough.
When I woke, I shared a simple lunch and more time with family. Moments like these may seem small, but they are the provisions that keep a sailor’s spirit strong.
As night approached, I returned to the forge and workshop. The printers hummed as a new treasure chest took shape—crafted to hold future loot that will one day be shared with the crew. Every artifact we make is another small step toward the larger adventure.
But the night brought unexpected rough waters.
As I prepared to turn in for the evening, I heard my mother crying. Words had passed between her and one of my siblings—words sharp enough to wound the heart. My mother has always believed that her children love one another deeply and that the storms between us would always pass quickly.
Sometimes the sea proves otherwise.
Because I live here with her, trading my labor and time rather than gold coins each month, some see me as nothing more than a burden… a moocher upon the harbor.
But the truth is different.
I have repaired her home.I share food, time, and effort. And most importantly, my mother and I share respect and understanding.
Not every sailor will understand another captain’s voyage.
And that is alright.
I am chasing a dream across uncertain waters, and dreams often look foolish to those watching safely from shore.
But a captain cannot chart his course by the voices of doubters—even when those voices belong to family.
So tonight I steady the wheel.
Head held high.Eyes fixed on the horizon.
The prize still waits somewhere beyond the fog.
And the voyage continues.
Until the next log entry,
Captain Blackinferno
