Captain’s Log — Entry 005

The winds of celebration still fill the sails.

My spirits remain high today, and I aim to carry that good wind straight through the weekend if the seas allow it.

The morning began in the galley beside my wife, where preparations for the evening’s gathering were well underway. Together we crafted provisions for the crew—hard tack, brownies, and decorations fit for a harbor celebration.

By nightfall, sailors from many ships gathered within Emberwake Harbor. The docks echoed with laughter, stories, and the joyful noise of a crew enjoying a well-earned night of celebration. The harbor lights burned late, and the spirit of the gathering carried on well into the evening hours.

But as this celebration settles, our course now turns toward another important day upon the calendar of life

—Mother’s Day.

I find myself grateful for my own mother, who was always there in the moments I needed it most… even during the times when I believed I did not.

I would also like to offer recognition to my mother-in-law. Not only for raising the remarkable woman who sails beside me, but for extending that same kindness and love to me as well.

So today I raise a toast across the seas.

To all the mothers out there—for the strength, patience, and quiet work done behind the scenes that keeps every crew afloat.

The voyage continues.

Until the next log entry,

Captain Blackinferno
